God, I hope not. I’m pretty sure I started writing INJECTION before I read THE WAKE (which was annoying, obviously), but Rob Morel’s connection to the landscape and history of the country is far more that of the cunning-man, the coder’s attention to detail, than to the early Dark Mountain/Uncivilisation models. It’s probably all floating around in the mix, but it’s nothing I was specifically trying to surface.
(Declan’s schedule is freeing up, so I recently broke ground on the writing of Vol 4, by the way.)
